When the T9 is placed in the motorcycle mount, it can be utilized in the three scenarios listed below. If you intend to use your motorcycle off-road, we recommend using option 2, which involves charging through USB-C.
1.- Internal battery powered: The battery for the TRIPLTEK 9 at maximum brightness with a navigation APP using the GPS will last between 8 to 10 hours.
2.- Motorcycle charging through USBc: This is the most reliable option and the recommended for off-road use.
You will be able to charge your TRIPLTEK 9 while maintaining the weatherproofing of the device.
Make sure the small door for the USBc port is waterproofed with the rubber installed.
You can use a regular 5V DC USB power to charge your TRIPLTEK 9 while riding.
Through this choice, you can receive information on the Tripltek 9 from devices connected to your motorcycle via the USB-C port. This is possible because the USB cable can both charge and transmit data simultaneously.
3.- Motorcycle powered: The TRIPLTEK 9 can also be powered from your motorcycle with the magnetic pin cable.
In this way, your TRIPLTEK 9 will continuously receive power from the motorcycle to maintain the battery’s charge. It won’t actively charge the battery; instead, the battery will be in idle mode.
To enable the Battery Idle Mode, you must install a step-down DC converter that converts from 12VDC to 9VDC with a capacity of 3 Amps. You can find the adapter on the TRIPLTEK store here
With option 3, refrain from utilizing a standard USB outlet or a 5VDC converter when employing the magnetic pin port. In such cases, the battery will not enter idle mode and will charge at a slow rate, posing a risk of potential damage or overheating.
This option is not recommended for high-vibration use.
THE OPTIONS NUMBER 2 AND 3 USED AT THE SAME TIME. The USBc will have priority and the T9 will be charging from the USBc
We always recommend keeping the maximum charging at 80%, you can read more on how to set it up by clicking on this article
