The magnetic pin connector on the TRIPLTEK 9 serves as a direct power supply, placing the battery into idle mode, which prevents it from charging.
In this mode, the magnetic pin connector helps maintain the battery level, even when the device is running power-intensive tasks, such as GPS navigation apps at maximum screen brightness. This functionality ensures that the TRIPLTEK 9’s battery remains cool, particularly when used in hot weather conditions.
When the T9 is connected for the first time, it will play a notification sound; however, the charging indicator will not light up, even though the device is receiving power from the cable. This is due to the battery entering idle mode, which causes the charging indicator on the TRIPLTEK 9 screen to remain off..
The pin cable can also be used to charge the Tripltek 9 PRO. To enable the charging function, navigate to System > Developer Menu and activate option number 8, labeled “ON allow pin port to charge the battery.” Please note that while charging, the battery will generate heat, which may affect the unit operating temperature range.
However, this option is not recommended for use when the Tripltek 9 PRO is mounted on the motorcycle mount.
The Developer Menu needs to be activated the first time you use it, by navigating to Settings>About and clicking on Build number 8 times.
